Break point is the vertex of the parabola that defines the Hook Phase of ball motion. From the bowler's perspective this is the point in the trajectory of a bowling ball at which the ball makes its greatest change in direction.
Breakpoint should not be used interchangeably with the term Exit Point. The point at which the ball leaves the pattern is commonly referred to as the Exit Point (refer to the Glossary for clarification).
