Find a bowler's PAP with a Pro Sect

1. Have the bowler throw a ball similar in total differential to the new one (if possible) with his normal release on a freshly oiled lane IN the oil.
2. Trace bowler's initial track flare line.
3. Using a prosect, draw centerline and find center of grip, by bisecting the full span
4. Using a prosect, draw the midline perpendicular to centerline at center of grip
5. Using a prosect, draw 2 lines perpandicular to the track somewhat spaced apart (1-2"), intersection point will be PAP.
6. Calculate the horizontal PAP distance by measuring the distance between the center of grip and PAP on the midline.
7. Calculate the vertical PAP distance by measuring the distance between the horizontal PAP measurement on the midline and the intersection points.

Find a bowler's PAP with an armadillo

1. Have the bowler throw a ball similar in total differential to the new one (if possible) with his normal release on a freshly oiled lane IN the oil.
2. Trace bowler's initial track flare line.
3. Using a prosect, draw centerline and find center of grip, by bisecting the full span
4. Using a prosect, draw the midline perpendicular to centerline at center of grip
5. Place the armadillo on the ball, and find the line on the armadillo that BEST parallels the initial track line you traced.
6. Mark the PAP using the notch on the armadillo on the non-track side of the ball.
7. Calculate the horizontal PAP distance by measuring the distance between the center of grip and PAP on the midline.
8. Calculate the vertical PAP distance by measuring the distance between the horizontal PAP measurement on the midline and the intersection points.

Find a bowler's PAP with a ball spinner

1. Have the bowler throw a ball similar in total differential to the new one (if possible) with his normal release on a freshly oiled lane IN the oil.
2. Trace bowler's initial track flare line.
3. Using a prosect, draw centerline and find center of grip, by bisecting the full span
4. Using a prosect, draw the midline perpendicular to centerline at center of grip
5. Place the ball in a ball spinner with the non-track side of the ball pointed up.
6. Try to line up the track, which is closest to the holding cup, parallel to the cup edge, when you start the spinner you want to see no line wobbling when the ball is moving.
7. Adjust the ball in the spinner until you see least amount of line wobbling as possible. 8. Take a wax pencil and mark the top of the ball where it is most stable in spinning, this is the positive axis point.
9. Calculate the horizontal PAP distance by measuring the distance between the center of grip and PAP on the midline.
10. Calculate the vertical PAP distance by measuring the distance between the horizontal PAP measurement on the midline and the intersection points.
